Megadrum by Japi - Documentation / Pictures -

Well, based on a matter of money and personal interest, I've decided to make the board myself, with a twist:
I will be doing the digital board, and the analog part will be blend with the pcb that will hold the input jacks in place.

I'll be documenting everything in pictures, with a brief of what's being done. Starting today.

Found an old broken cd player in the house, that will act as as the project case. I need to remove old stuff from there first.

Keeping in mind I'm stuck at the PRINTING step still but the final board looks inconsistent to me. Shouldn't the solid black/masked areas be totally solid? Probably not a huge issue on the large masked areas but if there was enough broken areas between close traces it could provide shorts and what not. Right?

I don't know, i'm no expert, but I understand your point and will run a few continuity test on the board with a multimeter to check.
Thanks

Update

Today we made the holes (what a pain in the rear) and started soldering some resistors. In the next days we will make some continuity test to make sure that everything is going smooth. I'll keep you posted

Update

In the previous link I have added 4 more pictures from today, we soldered a few more components, and the atmega is in place

I have a doubt.. i don't plan to use the midi connectors, just the usb.
I think I don't need to wire the 6N138 and everything attached to it, like connectors, resistors, etc? am I right?

Dimitri, I plan to use your schematics, but replace the bats with the 74hc4851 if I finally get it here (couldn't get it for now).
Is any alternative to the 74hc4851? Something equivalent?

The only alternative to 74hc4851 is to use any variant of 4051 with bat85 diodes (or equivalents), i.e. using my original schematic.

Would you be able to let us know what you used to drill the holes? Dremel rotary type tool? Regular drill? Drill press? What size bits?

I am following your build with interest!
