It looks like the IC is in upgrade mode... what can I do to reset it?

if "i Power up with the Left" I get on the display "When prompted, press the Down key." I press Down key the power off and oes not change nothin...

here is the same situation

1. Power up with the Left key pressed.
2. When prompted, press the Down key.
3. Do NOT send any Sysex but just power MegaDrum off.
4. Power MegaDrum on normally, i.e. without pressing any keys.

What do you see after that?
If you see MegaDrum boots normally, than the Lock bits are set incorrectly.
If you see black squares or it gets into Firmware Updater, than Lock bits are ok and you can try to upload a new firmware again.

I found your same problem when doing some updates to my firmware. For some reason the firmware, sometimes, is not written correctly. I solve this problem each time I get it by updating the firmware again.
Hold left while powering up. Open MIDI-OX and set output buffers (Options->Configure buffers) to 60000. Set only midi output device to your megadrum device (Options->Midi devices). Select Actions->sysex->send sysex. Search for the new syx firmware. Be sure to select the firmware with the right clock (the same clock in the LCD). THen, before opening the .syx file press down in megadrum, wait 1 or 2 seconds and then press the Open button to open the .syx file in MIDI-OX. Wait. "Updated firmware" or something like that will appear in the LCD. Reboot megadrum pressing right key (to load default values). This step is important. If you do it and get squares, then repeat the process again (update again). I have found myself updating even 3 times to get the firmware well updated.
