1. Connect a Bow/Bell jack to Aux1 input.
2. Connect an Edge jack to Aux2 input.
3. Set Aux1H->DualHead to 3way
4. Set Aux1R->Type to Switch
5. Set Aux2R->Type to Switch
6. Adjust Threshold for Aux1R and Aux2R somewhere between 10 and 50 (depends on MUX ICs used). When pressing/releasing an edge
you should see in MIDI-OX aftourtouch On/Off messages for all three zones.
This is almost what i did. I connected the Bow/Edge to Aux1 and Bow/Bell to Aux2. My current Threshold value for Aux1H and Aux1R is 20 and Aux2R is 7. The bell works ok right now. I also set the retriggering to 1 and dynamic threshold to 7 on all channels and this helped a lot. But the problem i have is with a CY-12 where i'm only using bow/edge and i'm using it as a hihat on left side. The sound is like it's autochoking or retriggering really fast. I did set the Note off delay to 300 and this have helped a lot. Is this the correct way to attack the issue? If you put the Threshold for the Yamaha style options to 0 that disables it, right? I'm running BFD2 on a iMac if that matters at all.
And what would the right process be for setting up a dual/tripple zone cymbal?
For ex. Always start with the edge and tune the threshold on that so you get ???? then go to bow and tune the threshold to ??? and then make sure you get aftertouch on all channels when choking?
Sorry about the stupid questions, but i'm really trying to understand everything so i can get the best performance of my megadrum and my drumgear.
Thanks,
Kari
