Is the brightness of the backlight is too low or there is no backlight ?

You can "put" or solder a 33 ohm resistor on top of the other, in parallel.

Dmitri first won the contest with this statement :-)

Replace the 470 Ohm resistor coming from the pin 15 of the lcd connector with a ~33-68 Ohm resistor.

I plan to apply the bootloader to the atmega so upcoming firmwares can be uploaded easily via usb. Questions:

1) Does the ICSP cable is the same for dmitris and synthex 2.5 boards? same pinout? I previously flashed my atmega with dmitris board but now I have a 2.5, so I need to know if I can use the same cable

2) My atmega already has a firmware. Is this a problem to the bootloader? Or the bootloader is flashed in a distinct area of the chip? Can I upload the bootloader directly and be done? Or I will have to upload the main firmware again ?

Thanks

Japi, all your hard work and new grey hairs have really paid off. Nice work! :) Hopefully after the holidays I'll finish mine up with the same success.

Should be the same

Writing the bootloader will erase everything in Atmega so you'll have to upload the MegaDrum firmware again. But it is not a problem, is it?:)
