Do you set only Output buffer to 60000, NOT Input buffer ?

Write the bootloader into Atmega then read memory(flash) from Atmega and post it here.

1) Are you sure your keys are not reversed, i.e. left is right, up is down and etc?
2) When you enter the bootloader, choose crystal clock and press DOWN, do you see the LCD showing 'Send Sysex now'?

1) On closer examination and after re-reading the pinout, i've found that I had the buttons reversed, yes.
I don't think this mistake is the problem, read 2)
To avoid further mistakes, i've "cannibalized" (does that word exists? hehe) the buttons from the cd player I intent to use as a case. This is the result

2) Yes, the lcd showed "sent sysex now" when I pressed one button (I think DOWN)

I will retry tomorrow with the new keyboard

It's working now! :ugeek: :ugeek:

Dmitri, could it be that I was not holding LEFT when booting, but pressing other buttons would take me anyway to the menu with crystal speed and the "PRESS DOWN" and "SEND SYSEX" thing without actually performing the update? Because the only thing that changed is that now I have the buttons operating as they should

Thanks!

I made a mistake when taking a screenshot of the "Configuration and Security bits' in the first post.
BootLock11 MUST be checked to prevent the bootloader from overwriting itself accidentally
I made a note in the first post as well.

So what should be done? Configure bits and reflash bootloader? Configure bits only?
