Windows doesn't detect megadrum

i just finish to solder all components and when i plugged my megadrum on usb port windows doesn't detect...
What are the first steps to do to find the problem? i'm not sure only about a capacitor (100uF) because there are 3 hole and i solder it in second and third as picture.
i'm so sad


i try it in another USB and it says OVERLOAD on usb port!

i tried again and....now it WOOOORKS! i don't know why!

no...again the same problem...windows isn't able to install megadrum drivers...

Check for shorts/breaks. Make sure you soldered polar capacitors in correct polarity. Same applies to diodes.

all seems work properly now. i rebooted and plug usb in another usb port.
Windows recognized and installed it as megadrum.
I saw it in MCT as USB Speaker....
maybe it was a windows usb bug....now i must finish pcb input board to try it...stay tuned!

No, i think it's something wrong with my megadrum.
Sometimes windows detect is, but sometimes not.If it's detected, if i try to upload some settings from MTC windows pops up a message that usb periferhal doesn't work properly.
But if mu MD is connected, i can navigate in menu with buttons, and i see piezo activity on Lcd screen...
Tomorrow i will try by MIDI but powered via usb...
But i don't like that something doesn't work

i continue in this post to explain my problems.
after two or treeh times that windows recogized my megadrum it stopped to do it.
The pop up says that one periferhal is unknown.It really strange because sometimes (yesterday) changing usb port it was detected.
All seem to work in Megadrum, because i can browse menu with button, and if i plug a pad or the hihat pedal i see activity on display.
This morning i tried to use midi out but with usb power supply and no midi signal was detected in my midi input interface.
i really don't know what to do, i checked all wiring and solder and all seem to be ok.
Thanks to who can help me

Regarding the USB problem. Since your PIC18F2550 has original Synthex's firmware, you can try to solder a 10k-47k resistor between pin 26 of PIC18F2550 and +5 as suggested in http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=268.
If the USB socket is not soldered directly into the board, make sure that wires between the board and the USB socket are as short as possible. Try a different USB cable. Also the USB socket may be faulty or with loose contacts. You can test it with a multimeter - plug the USB cable into MegaDrum without plugging into a PC and check for continuity between pins of the USB socket and the pins of the USB cable at the other end.
If you still can't find where the problem is, check for continuity between pins 15, 16 of PIC18F2550 and corresponding pins of the USB socket. Make sure you don't have a short between pins 15 and 16 of PIC18F2550 and neither of these two pins have shorts to +5, the ground or any other traces/pins/etc.
Make sure both pins 8 and 19 of PIC18F2550 have continuity to the ground.
Plug your MegaDrum into your PC and measure voltages on pins 20 (5V), 14 (3.3V), 1 (5V).

Regarding the MIDI port. Make sure you're using MIDI Out and not MIDI In. Make sure that you soldered DIN5 MIDI socket correctly - if you swapped wires it won't work. Make sure you have continuity between pin 15 of Atmega and R18 and bewteen R18 and pin 5 of the DIN5 MIDI socket as shown in http://www.megadrum.info/sites/default/ ... _kicad.png. Note that pin numbering on DIN5 sockets is not sequential.
