I don't know if it's related.

I had 32-16-32 vers.20090504 corrupt on me. Meaning startup suddently just showed a "@" in the top left corner instead of the welcome screen and after loading just showed a tiny dot in each of the snare and pedal position.

Reinstalling the firmware (20090508 this time) didn't succeed fully at first (weird response from keys after boot), but after the second reinstalment things are fine.

Try reloading the firmware.
Same thing :(

Please, describe step-by-step with smallest details what you do so that I could reproduce it.

- Downloaded megadrum32_20090508.zip
- Plug MD and open MCT
- Select "update Firmware" in MCT
- When MCT asks for it, unplug MD and plug it back while holding the left button
- MD is ready, press "down" on the MD, and "yes" in MCT
- Firmware is being sent, the LED flashes and when it stop flashing I press "ok" in MCT
- MD shows the initial screen and the normal Vu-Meter (and actually, everything remains normal until I chose "Load Config")

- Use the "down" button to navigate to "Load Config" and select "config 1" (which contains my latest/best settings)
- And that's when I get the first pic I showed you
- Once I'm there, nomatter what I press ("up", "down", "left" or "right"), the only screen I can get, is the one showing "Loaded DrumMap" (1,2,3 or 4)

- Since there's nothing else I can do, I unplug MD and plug it back
- Same thing... everything is normal, everything works fine.
- Navigate to "Load Config" and chose "Config 2"
- I get the third screen I showed you. But nothing works, even though I keep trying "left", "right, up or "down".

- I tried to download the firmware 3 times to make sure the problem wasn't caused by some failure while downloading.

- I also double check everytime I chose the firmware version, to make sure I select "megadrum32_16_32_20090508.syx"

- Like I said, I went back to an older version and everything's back to normal

My MCT wont update firmware anymore, just today I read this thread and realized there's new updates

I'm on 20090326 and MCT says that my firmware is up to date.

Elrules changed the application yesterday so that an Internet conection is no longer required to run MCT.

Here's what he said:
I will just add the offline-allowed tag to the JNLP file. You will only need internet connection if you feel you want to update the application.

In other words, maybe the automatic update fonction is currently inactive.
Maybe you should go to the "software" section of the forum and ask how to re-enable that fonction, and/or manually update the firmware.

Firmware upgrade in MCT is broken at the moment. Use MIDI-OX for the upgrade procedure described in http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=622 and then come back with the results.

midox doesn't work, it wont upload new firmware (I don't know what boot loader I have right now), nwm - anyway, manually updated over MCT to 20090508 ...and everything works fine ...

I'm experiencing some stability issues with the 20090508 (and the 20090504) firmware.

- The left-right buttons wouldn't respond in MD menu from channel 1 kick and forward. In all other menus up ontill kick, left-right worked fine. Reinstalled firmware (MIDI-OX) and problem was gone.

- Had garbled symbols showing up on the MD buttom row. Reinstalled firmware again (MIDI-OX) and all is okay.

- Also had MD reboot on it's own, showing the welcome screen.

I'm wondering if it has to do with MCT not being fully up-to-date with MD in regards to the new Hihat settings. Will using "sent all to MD" or "write to slot 1" mess up things for MD or will it simply disregard the Pedal settings and sent the rest, no harm done?

"send all to MD" may definitely mess up things for MD like buffer overflows.
