I do wonder though, if they work with Roland modules just fine, isn't it more likely that I wired something wrong and, with my admittedly rather limited understanding of the matter, just cannot figure out what it is?

More likely Roland modules expect voltage go up when pedal is pressed. I guess this is the reason the optical HiHat pedal doesn't work with Roland modules - the phototransistor and the current limiting resistor have to be swapped.

True, that would jive with the fact that the impedance gets smaller when I press the pedal.

Woo. Will do in a wee bit - just finished building my drum podium (yay!), and I'm going to have to hop into the shower now. Because I smell.

Hmm. I can't remember what firmware my atmega came with. I suppose something from march. 200903xx something. I think. I quickly updated to version 20090520, though.

Alrighty. Now that I'm out of the shower and smell a lot better than before, I'm going to set up my drums again on the new podium and take a look at the new firmware.

Very nice! I set LvlsRevers to Yes and it plays a note when I put my foot down and not when I move it up. Yay!

Okay, I also found out that it actually plays the splash and not the chick, but I suppose that's something I'll have to finetune with the parameters in there. Will take another look at the documentation and try to find out what to do there.
