If I order one of these from you, is it exactly the same as Sythex's kit, except for being assembled and put in a nice box?

No, it is not. I build modules using SMD components:

Also all modules I build come with rotary encoder controls in addition to buttons.

One other thing: Does megadrum support snare stick slaps for dual zone mesh pads like Roland TD20, or is it normal hit and cross stick only?

For piezo/piezo pads MegaDrum can recognize 3 types of hits:
1. head.
2. rim.
3. rim shot (head and rim hit simultaneously).
