Yamaha RHH-135 hi-hat settings

Right now I have it like this (from the autolvl):

lowlvl 268
highlvl 892

I don't get any effect what so ever from changes I make in the openlvl/closedlvl options (1 - 127 all the same ...)

In addition to this I have set up the midi notes like it is proposed in this wiki: http://www.megadrum.info/wiki/index.php ... orDrummer2

That means every articulation of the bow has the note 19, for the edge it is 18 but actually I only get 19, the edge doesn't work at all at the moment. Also there are no intermediate positions (In the wiki it says SD 2 would take care of that ... I don't know ...)

Forget about notes for now. First you need to get the pedal's 4 positions (open/closed plus 2 intermediate) to be recognised, i.e you can see the VU meter on the LCD goes from open to closed with 2 intermediate steps (or better yet use the MDM's MIDI Log to monitor the pedal's position). I assume, of course, that you connected the pedal to the high impedance input, set Type to F.Contr, AltIn to Yes and LevelsAuto to No.

Right now I have it like this (from the autolvl):

1. Presss the pedal all the way down.
2. Set LowLevel to 100.
3. Raise LowLvl by 10 at a time until VU meter (or the pedals position in the MDM MIDI Log) reliably reaches the bottom. Don't increase LowLvl any more than that.
4. Release the pedal completely.
5. Set HighLevel to 900.
6. Lower HighLvl by 10 at a time until VU meter (or the pedals position in the MDM MIDI Log) reliably reaches the top. Don't decrease HighLvl any more than that.

Return all other pedal's settings to defaults.

just a real quick question in between: By "connecting the pedal to the high impedance input" you just mean changing altin:no to altin:yes and putting the right lever on the megadrum into the down position? i still leave the plug in the same hihat ctrl input jack (first jack top row from left), right?

ok good thanks (btw I am at 320 with the lowlvl already but by now I am not yet there ... I do as fast as I can and I'll hurry back when I'm done )

EDIT: so now I'm done with the lowlvl. I am exactly at 400 and there are 2 bars and one blinking bar left when the pedal is fully pressed (at 410 it starts to make a crazy continous rattling sound) ok now let's check the highlvl ...

There must be only 1 bar left and not blinking:

Well 407 is the last value that gives me a normal closed sound (2 bars and 1 blinking bar). At 408 the strange continous rattling begins ...

Just disregard this rattling, you have not finished configuring the pedal yet. In fact, don't listen to any sounds, just follow the steps I suggested.

okay, I'll be back in an instant ...

I raised the lowlvl up to 540, then (pedal fully pressed of course) there is no bar at all and the red light shines evenly, also no blinking at all. with values over 540 the red light is blinking and with values under 540 there is always blinking (even if there aren't any bars anymore, but there are points in the middle that are blinking)

so should I leave it at 540?
