Settings for Piezo/switch hihats

Can you disconnect the cymbal and just simulate pressing/releasing the switch by connecting/diconnecting edge input to/from ground. Is it the same - 00 on connecting to ground and 7f on disconnecting from ground?

Yeah it's the same. (Phew...so, I did not build a logical inverter into my cymbal switch )
Tomorrow I'll check if I made some serious mistakes with the soldering.......although this reason
would seem pretty unlogical to me.

Seems strange. It appears as if you were shortening it to +5 rather than ground. Can you measure voltages on a corresponding pin of a MUXer when you press the switch and when you release it?

I shall measure the current between the contact of the MAX4558 that leads to the corresponding pin of my 2x20 connector (the one that leads to the ring of my cymbal cable jack) AND any ground contact. Correct?

No, not the current. Voltage on a pin of 4051 (or whatever MUXer you used) leading to the switch. E.g. for a Crash Cymbal you'll measure voltage on pin 2 of IC1 according to my schematic from http://www.megadrum.info/img/megadrumanalogue2.png

This is how it should be. I am really, really puzzled here. With a choke when MegaDrum sees voltage drops below threshold (input shortened to ground) it should send 7F and when it sees voltage goes above threshold after previous pressed position it should send 00.
Right now I don't understand how it can be happening other way around!

Can somebody else reproduce it or at least just test it. You don't even need a dual zone piezo/switch cymbal. Simply on one of unused inputs set Head/Bow as Dual Head, set Threshold on Rim/Edge to around 15 and set Type on Rim/Edge as Switch. And then, while watching MIDI signals with MIDI-OX, shorten Rim/Edge input to ground (normally ring to sleeve on TRS stereo cable) and then release it.
What do you see in MIDI-OX?
