I've also tried what happens if I disconnect the cable and try to read/program, I get all 0's.
If I try to program with the ic not in the socket but everything connected I still get all 0's


you think the pic is busted?

Yes I do.

I'm going to try this http://electronics-diy.com/electronic_schematic.php?id=752 programmer and see if the chip is busted.

Still no luck getting another pc with serial port.

Hi. Im from Argentina too, and im also building megadrum. I use the JDM programmer for PIC programming, which is cheap and easy to build (really cheap and really easy- I made it using an old tv parts) . Although I must say I havent programmed mine yet, but ill do it tonight and post results.

Its kinda easier, more straight -forward, and reduces the chance of making mistakes, i guess. Might work for some people. Plus, it is a nice and useful device to have.

Hi everybody I mount on overboard this project and when put it on a usb, winXP make that sound you know, but twice, and after a couple of seconds sounds like when I get off a usb device, twice too and windows says "a problem occurs when installing the driver", I take a look to the circuit but is all fine, donk now whats happend, please help.
