On Drum Channel they have one big room for Bozzio's drum set and bunch of other percussions and drums. They do jam sessions all the time (Terry Bozzio, Don Lombardi and all other drummers that come to make show, lesson, video, jam...).
That main giant percussion-drum set sounds very similar to your, so when I was listening your record it remind me to their sound. I like very much what have you done there.
Drum Channel was totally free of charge couple years ago, now they ask for members to pay some money. It's a haven for any man who like rhythm,drums,percussions...

Anyone else with any recorded offerings? With reference back to the video posted, I'm intruiged as to whether 'we' are thinking the quality of VST is making all the difference.

Well if you cant play like that guy you cant get feeling of instrument in front of you. If you have your grooves and fills with ghost notes and all that shit still you cant play electronic drums successfully and you cant catch that his machine is way better than yours.
Khm...Your playing is good no doubt and I like it but for that kind of playing even my diy set is good and can handle it. It is similar to timpani and percussion playing. A little tenderness on timpani my friend. Many times I turn of electronics and practise just on pads without sound. Feeling is way better because I heard only my strokes as they are for true, sound from my phones isnt same as what I play. It is frustrating.
However I will record some fragment and share with you this days.

That is what we are all looking for, so why is your pad not doing it's job?

On this audio you can hear that weakest part is hi hat, it is very hard to satisfy them.
eg. MD and some half time shuffle.wav
I talking about tiny things, some ghosts, accents... all pads are not consistent, maybe I can't explain but I was tortured while playing that groove which I play great on acoustic kit. Whole drum set is loose and I must adapt my strokes to the flaws of pads. It's hard to do.
Snare and bass are fairly ok but hats... I must revisit all set.
