Make a sane trigger configuration

I have the Megadrum hooked up to a set of Yamaha pads and cymbals, still trying to make a sane trigger configuration. My idea was to use it exclusively with the pc and Superiordrummer or likewise, but the iPad idea strikes me hard. I was to try the DM Touch idea, just to find out Alesis discontinued that line. I’ve got some sound out of Garagband, but are there any other options? For instance, I haven’t got choking to work in Garageband. Not sure if it’s unsupported or me failing to set it up properly.
