I vaguely remember having a similar problem and solved it by moving the bin file up the hierarchy of sub folders, i.e. c: megadrum/.bin

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

1. Are you sure you select the correct crystal frequency?
2. Are you sure no other MIDI apps are running when you follow the precedure?
3. Are you sure your MegaDrum is Atmega644 based and not Atmega1284 based?

1. Yes. It says 20MHz, see photo of firmware info:

2. None other programs or apps are running.
3. The documentation you sent me says Atmega644, se photo:

Moving the files directly to C:\ did not help, either :|

Problem solved!
It turned out the unit was Atmega1268, instead of 644, as the original documentation said.
I had to dismantle it, because I have built it into the casing of a 16 port network switch, with the ethernet ports acting as input sockets. And - voila - the processor read Atmega1268....
It is now properly updated.
Thanks for the tip, Dmitri - and you're forgiven that the documentation sent with the unit said 644... ;-)

Just for the record, it is Atmega1284 (not Atmega1268).

If under hihat pedal tab Misc the option New Algorithm is active, are then under tab Misc and Levels all chick/splash settings not used under this option (as described on the website under Configuration) also still functional?
Kind regards, Rob.

I don't really understand the question. Can you please elaborate?
Please note that the New Algorithm active/inactive state really matters for chick/splash generation by MegaDrum if the MIDI app/VST doesn't support generating them from the pedal CC data.

OK, let me rephrase.

MDMFX HiHat Pedal tabs Misc/Levels have several settings related to chick/splash:
- Misc: ChkCrv, SoftChicks, New Algorithm, ChickDelay;
- Levels: ChickThresh, SoftChickThresh, LongChickThresh, ChickMinVlcty, ChickMaxVlcty, ChckDeadPeriod;

Q1: with New Algorithm not selected, all above settings are relevant and need to be set?

Documentation mentions that when New Algorithm is selected, it uses 4 settings: MinVlcty, MaxVlcty, ChckDead and ChkCrv.
(these 4 settings are also shown when New Algorithm it is not selected).
Q2: besides these 4 settings the other settings related to chick/splash are not used?

With New Algorithm selected the pedal processing to get chick/splash is different.
It makes me think that some settings are required for this algorithm and some may be ignored.
So to avoid misunderstanding,

Q3: with New Algorithm selected, which settings are relevant for chick/splash triggering and need to be set?
Kind regards, Rob.
