Hello Dmitri and Ignotus,

I did not use my MegaDrum for some time, I got stuck with the rebuild in the new case (I purchased form Dmitri) due to family issues.
But now I get more time so I will complete the new case.

I was checking for the latest firmware release and also found this thread.
Dmitri, thank you for your efforts to keep improving MegaDrum!
Ignotus, thank you for helping Dmitri with beta testing!

I think I have 'difficult' DIY mesh pads so this beta release could be very welcome.
I'm also very pleased with the new feature of showing the trigger wave!

However, I read that you both get some opposite results with this beta version.

What is your advice?
Kind regards, Rob.

My advice - just test it. In this firmware you can switch between old and new alg at will. Be aware that with best found setting in the old alg when switching to the new alg you will likely need to adjust at lease most important settings - DynTime, DynLevel, Retrigger, MinScan.

Hello Dmitri,

I loaded the beta version in MD and started to refresh my memory for configuring it.
So I went through all options in MDMFX and the MD configuration screens on the MD website.

For some of the older options I'm in doubt if these are still relevant with the beta version and some options might not (yet) have been implemented in the beta version.

Can pls you comment on below list the status of options that I'm not sure about:
1. Xtalk suppression implemented?
2. 3rd zone functionality implemented?
3. Noise filter default level still 5?
4. AltFalseTrSupp set to No?
5. HH Alt Input setting with PS board still relevant for Roland FD8 or VH11?
6. HH New Algorithm still functional?
7. Head/Bow ExtraFalseSupp set to No?

Thanks for your advice.
Kind regards, Rob.

As per viewtopic.php?p=38556#p38556 and viewtopic.php?p=38568#p38568 I think all functionality is implemented.

See my comment above.

3. Noise filter default level still 5?

Yes.

4. AltFalseTrSupp set to No?

No need/not in use/ignored in the new alg.

5. HH Alt Input setting with PS board still relevant for Roland FD8 or VH11?

Yes.

6. HH New Algorithm still functional?

Yes.

7. Head/Bow ExtraFalseSupp set to No?

No need/not in use/ignored in the new alg.

Maybe I'm overlooking something but I cannot get the hi-hat pedal to work with the beta version.
I have the PS add-on board installed.

I have Alt Sampling Alg activated and Inputs Priority not (so beta version not active).
The pedal works as normal, in first picture midi log with pedal open, in second picture nearly closed.
The big VU meter on MD shows the same.

When I activate Inputs Priority then beta version is active, I get the trigger wave from e.g. the snare input visible on MD LCD (which is a great feature!!).
I don't change the hi-hat settings but the hi-hat pedal becomes not responsive, it shows only fully open on MD and midi log.
Playing around with levels and changing Alt Input does not make a difference.

Please advice.

Do you see the raw Pedal Lvl number changing on the LCD when you press/depress the pedal.

No, on the LCD the pedal Lvl is always 847 (max) and does not change.
The big VU meter for hi-hat is fully open and does not change.
In midi log the raw midi data does not change (no new values added).

As soon as I deactivate Inputs Priority everything works fine.

Can you test with the standard pedal input (disable Alt Input and connect pedal to the low impedance input) ?
