The applications is nearly finished. It is coming later because I decided to program the midi monitor.

The new features programmed and already tested are:
- Small midi monitor panel, with a meter for hihat pedal position and other for pad velocity (all pads are monitored with the same meter)
- Additionally, you can open a separate window with 10 meters representing a time axis. Each time it receives a hit, it is added to the last meter, with its note value, velocity and type (pad hit or choke) and the rest of the registered hits are shifted to the left, just as in the Roland TD-12 trigger monitor. You can register all the hits: this is useful if you want to detect xtalk (you hit a pad and it register a high-velocity hit and various subsequent low-velocity hits). And you can also filter it to show only one midi note, to let you see how good is your velocity curve and response, so you can adjust the parameters for your optimal settings.

At the moment, I am having troubles sending the firmware to megadrum through the app, as the big sysex file is automatically fragmented in 512 bytes sysex packets. This way the module does not recognize the firmware well.
I am thinking that maybe it is better to remove the feature of firmware update for now, and realease now the software and then think about a solution for future updates.
What do you think?

GOOD NEWS!!
I have achieved to program the "update firmware" feature, but it will be only available for windows users. The application determines which OS is running the user and enables or disables the update option.
;)

The release date is comming soon

EDIT: those poor guys having Windows Vista may have problems executing that feature as windows is very restrictive and won't let my program to copy the file MidiPort.dll (necesary to send big sysex files) to C:/windows/system32 so you will have to copy it manually

A new screenshot. Here you can see the midi monitors and that the interface is now better distributed

The monitor features look like a welcomed addition. I'm particularly happy to see a numeric display of the value along with the bars as it provide an absolute value to reference instead of guessing what the bar represents.

It might be more ideal for the smaller MIDI MONITOR area to display those bars vertically as that's more intuitive to a high-low representation than horizontal. Also, I suggest adding the numberic display of the values to those bars. You may want to label the pedal display so it's absolutely clear where open and closed is. All of those changes will make it so there's no guesswork involved and to make it as intuitive as possible.

You can certainly get crazy with the monitoring features, though they're extremely helpful during the initial setup phase of the e-drums and module.

I can provide a variety of other suggestions and reports once the software is released for testing. And once I have a working MegaDrum. ;)

Keep up the good work!

Well, I have uploaded a beta version so you can test it.
I have tested all the actions that can be done. Everything works, including the firmware update for windows users
Tested in a Windows XP pc.

http://www.serfin.eu/configtool/install.jnlp

You must have Java 6 installed.
Click the link and select "Open with Java Web Start Launcher"
The app should popup with an mini-help screen. Configure it and it will show.
It is adviced to have megadrum connected with the first run of the program, but it is not obligatory.
Later, it will be better to run the program after megadrum has been connected to USB, since the program will open the midi ports correctly. But anyway I think it also works if you connect megadrum aftter runing the app

The link will be operative till we all together decide it is stable. When that occurs, I hope dmitri accepts my proposal of uploading it to megadrum.info instead of the server of the place I work :D

FOR MAC USERS READ THIS:
Before launching the application install this:
http://www.mandolane.co.uk/dlPlumstone.html
For installing (in Tiger OS, which has java 1.5) you only need to copy plumstoneserv.jar to /Library/Java/Extensions

The server is not entirely under my control but I'll try to work something out.

erules,

Many thanks, i tried a few things out and it seems to I have a few remarks/questions,

- The Hihat pedal meter works inverse to the LCD display, anyway with me.
- You need the new bootloader to update the Firmware ?
- some help file would be also very "help"full.

Thanks anyway, great Job.

- You are right. The pedal goes from CC=0 (open) to CC=127 (closed). I will fill it as soon as possible. I also want to put the pedal meter vertically or at least show 2 labels "closed" and "open" as Gastric adviced me.
- Yes, you need a bootloader, but you don't have to have the last version (that one with clock selector). If you have the first version of the bootloader (without clock selector) simply you don't need to press "Up" to select a clock. Just press down and press "Yes" in the application.
If you don't have a bootloader you will need to program it with PonyProg or something like that.
- I know :) I released the app very quickly, with the most important features available but with still some things to do. I will list them here:

Things still to be done:
- Changing input names "on the fly" when doing a firmware update.-> this is nearly finished ;) (For now you can set your own input names but only for having them shown in the application graphical interface).
- Write a help file
- Write a version history
- Check for automatic firmware updates
