For some reason a part of the dillema is now solved. That part being the number of sysex messages being sent when sending ALL SETTINGS from MCT to MD.

Setting the "sysex send time value" to 100ms or 1000ms doesn't matter. Any value will "work" (at least, all 48 sysex messages appear on my Midi monitor as if they were sent).

Now the only thing I have to find out is WHY my MD doesn't respond to those messages! Any idea on what I could try to figure this out?

I'd suggest you to test it on a borrowed Windows PC. This way you'll be able to definitely put blame either on your MegaDrum or Mac/MCT. Also make sure ChainID is set to 0 in your MegaDrum.

I will do so (even though it wont be easy to find since all the people arround me are Mac users!), but even before I blame it all on my computer or my MD I would really appreciate understanding what is happening when I send sysex messages!

Elrules let me ask... Do you already have a tool developped for MCT that I could use to obtain a log of all the sysex messages from the MCT just BEFORE they are being sent. That way I could compare the results with Midi Monitor's results. If it had a function that would product a txt file with that log it would be even better!!!

I think that your messages are ok. They start with F0 and end with F7, so they are ok. What is inside F0-F7 is impossible to be wrong

i just did this from my mac and the firmware update works

it's easy.

basically download and install MMJ (i used v0_87 for future reference)

copy mmj "mmj.jar" and "libmmj.jnilib" to your java extension folder:

and open Megadrum Config Tool

nope sorry. haven't tried anything else than resetting and updating the MD through MCT.

which is a HUGE step already, IMO, since i'm on an Intel Mac.
the "Ubuntu-way"/live-CD didn't work for me since it's only applicable to PowerPC macs.

i'll post some results when i get it all finished (my case and drumkit, that is)

ok i'll do some test.

but to make things clear - the only thing YOU'RE having troubles with (on mac) is getting "All MD setting/Send To MD" to work?

and i can test this by changing parameters around in MCT, sending it ("All") to MD, and seeing if the MD has the same changes made on it?

(sorry - haven't used the MCT before...)

Sysex wait time 100ms

when sending ALL to MEGADRUM it sends 48 messages (using MidiMonitor).
it sends different sized messages.

But i can't load them from the MD back.
it only sends 6byte messages back..

and the same thing with sending individual/"selected pad" Sysex messages.
TO misc. sized messages
FROM 6 bytes messages
