Problem

Postby Stipe » Sat Jan 31, 2009 9:19 pm

Hello everybody. I built megadrum from syntex kit version 2.08 all in one. For the first time, that I connected megadrum thrue usb everything was working great. Next time i connected MG the lcd screen was blank. When I push the left button it says: Fw updater 16Mhz
DOWN-ok.UP-clock
I am using 16Mhz cristal. When i press down button it says:Send SysEx now
From now on everything i press dont work-nothing happens. What to do? Did megadrum automatically found new firmware?
Do i need isp cable now? Please help.

Regards,Stipe

You either have the LEFT button stuck so MegaDrum enters the bootloader every time you power it up or you've accidentally erased MegaDrum firmware and you need to re-load it using MCT (MegaDrum Config Tool).
Read http://www.megadrum.info/configtool and viewtopic.php?f=3&t=111

dmitri thank you very much! :D
Looks like I accidentaly erased firmware. So i uploaded it again using MCT, and it works like a charm again.
Thanks for the help.
P.S. For the LCD-can something go wrong if for R lcd i am using 220 ohm instead of 470 ohm for the BLACK-BLUE LCD?
Thanks again.

I don't think there will be any harm.

You can use a 220 ohm.
The screen will be brighter. ;)

i'm using the 47ohm ("should" be 470ohm) for my R-lcd and it's just very bright. nothing to worry about.
without a resistor (just a straight wire) it's just a tad brighter.
