Well, I'm curious too, but just not enough to browse the crappy TI.com site for 4 hours to find ICs ;)

I'll use my LCD and Keys board to program it -- he just needs the standard MIDI GM notes for drums.

What other options ? Once its programmed with his pads and hihat controler there's nothing else he needs.

Hello,
I think I will make this PCB with 74HC4851 but I am not sure they are easy to found....
I think I will put standart 4051 and implement discretes BAT 85 and resistors on separate PCBs with jack sockets for pad input.....

CMS version is easy to find. :)
I already received my order and I will make a small adapter CMS <-> DIP.
